Commercial Companies
PROJECT REFERENCE
Rustenburg Mining Company
Problem to be solved:
The source water had high TDS and nitrate contamination, making the water unsuitable for drinking.
Client: Mining Company
Location: Rustenburg
Project value: R 2 783 768 .77
Year of execution: 2022
Plant description: 26 m3/h containerised dam water treatment plant
BWT installed a reverse osmosis system complete with filtration pre-treatment, including chemical dosing and post remineralisation
The client was able to deliver safe drinking water to the mine community.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Spirit Manufacturer
Problem to be solved:
The client needed to replace and outdated ion exchange system with extreme water wastage. The municipal water source had to be treated to produce electrical conductivity less than 15 mS/cm.
Client: Spirits manufacturer
Location: Durban
Project value: R2 167 951.41
Year of execution: 2021
Plant description: 26 m³/h RO with brine recovery RO water treatment plant
RO is required to remove ions and TDS in the water to produce a low dissolved salt permeate and a concentrated salt waste stream. The system included a brine recovery RO to reduce wastage and achieve a system recovery of 95 %.
High quality input water was still achieved while reducing the overall water wastage of the system. The client also secured their water treatment infrastructure for the next decade by upgrading with modern equipment.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Plastic packaging Manufacturer
Problem to be solved:
Cooling towers require chemical dosing to prevent scale, corrosion and the development of biofilm. Additionally, a low conductivity top up system was required to maintain water levels through the system.
Client: Manufacturer of plastic packaging
Location: Johannesburg
Project value: R 416 927.35
Year of execution: 2022
Plant description: 0.5 m3/hr RO system with dosing station
We installed a skid mounted reverse osmosis unit with GAC pretreatment and chemical dosing to control scale, corrosion and biofilm production.
The client was able to enjoy less downtime due to breakdowns and a lower maintenance cost across the system.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Burkina faso Mining Company
Problem to be solved:
The only water source in the area was borehole water, which was contaminated with iron. This posed an operation risk to infrastructure as the water was being used for both potable and process purposes.
Client: Mining Company
Location: Burkina Faso
Project value: R 1 410 151.50
Year of execution: 2022
Plant description: 4 m3/h containerised borehole water treatment plant
BWT installed an iron removal system to ensure safe water for downstream applications.
The client was able to operate their processing facility to the required level and also produce potable water.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Burkina faso Mining Company
Problem to be solved:
The only water source in the area was borehole water, which was contaminated with arsenic and not suitable for human consumption.
Client: Mining Company
Location: Burkina Faso
Project value: R 1 410 151.50
Year of execution: 2022
Plant description: 6 m3/h containerised borehole water treatment plant
BWT installed a reverse osmosis system complete with filtration pre-treatment, including chemical dosing and post remineralisation
Benefit to the Client: The client was able to deliver safe drinking water to the mine community.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Cooling tower side stream
Problem to be solved:
Over time, cooling towers can accumulate suspended solids which cause operational challenges in the system.
Client: Vanadium processing facility
Location: Port Elizabeth
Project value: R 194 292.82
Year of execution: 2022
Plant description: Cooling tower side stream filter
Side stream filters are installed to eliminate any build up of suspended material. We supplied AFM filtration with auto backwashing heads.
The client can seamlessly operate their cooling towers by preventing solids build-up in the cooling tower sump and preventing heat transfer in cooling tower.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Water retailer
Problem to be solved:
Problem to be solved: The client wanted to utilise his on-site borehole for his personal use as well as to provide safe drinking water to communities in need. The borehole water was extremely hard and had a high salinity, rendering it unfit for human consumption.
Client: Retailer of borehole water
Location: Centurion
Project value: R 237 624.03
Year of execution: 2021
Plant description: 1 500 L/h borehole water treatment solution
We supplied a AFM filter, softener and reverse osmosis system. The softener was required to bring the hardness to within the limit for the RO, while the RO addressed the high salinity. The system included bypass remineralisation and disinfection.
The client was able to reliably supply and sell safe drinking water to communities without water.
PROJECT REFERENCE
Bakery Boiler
Problem to be solved:
The industrial bakery makes use of a boiler for processing purposes. The feed water to the boiler is hard, which will cause scaling, and ultimately production losses.
Client: Bakery
Location: Zambia
Project value: R 119 717.52
Year of execution: 2022
Plant description: Skid mounted Duplex softener to deliver 10 000L/hr (including feed pump on level control)
We offered a skid mounted duplex softener to ensure uninterrupted soft water supply to the boiler.
The client was able to carry out all necessary activities in the production of baked goods without the risk of critical equipment failure and downtime.
